Abstract Jewish immigrant from the Ukraine who became one of Fargo's most successful lawyers and most active community and Jewish leaders in the state. This collection provides a good example of a lawyer's case work.

Scope and Contents The John Miller Baer Cartoon collection consists of twenty-four original ink drawings by Mr. Baer, most of which were used in the Nonpartisan Leader publication. The provenance to the collection is not known. Whether they were donated by Mr. Baer or from a third party is not known. Abstract Olson was a New Rockford settler and North Dakota governor. The collection contains threshing account books, travel expense, stallion service books, and homestead deeds. The collection also contains material relating to Olson's political career.

Abstract Correspondence, including letters (1931) to Sam Shevchenko of Buxton, from relatives in the Ukraine describing the famine there; copies of speeches; pamphlets; scrapbook, containing several letters from L.B. Hanna and William Langer; photos of Sorlie's family home in Norway; and material relating to National Nonpartisan League, his general store and farm in Buxton, and other topics.
